The WMDC conducts free and low-cost business seminars, workshops, courses and conferences addressing a wide range of concerns for existing businesses in the construction industry. Including continuing education on the latest changes and trends within the construction industry.
WMDC regularly host interactive workshops to promote ongoing business development that assess management strengths and weaknesses, while helping businesses to apply best practices. Workshops will also provide an opportunity for businesses and their employees to obtain essential licenses, business certifications needed as a tool to grow any small business. Certifications include: SOWMBA, DBE, OSHA 10 & 30, DCAM, LEAD Certification, Supervisor Construction license and LEED certification to name a few.
WMDC provides your business with an array of services to help build capacity while offering advocacy on keys issues impacting your business.
The Wright Building
WMDC purchased a vacant historic commercial structure on the lower State Street corridor and is undergoing complete gut rehabilitation. The building is comprised of 5000 s.f of office space, which will be the new administrative offices of WMDC and home of the Wright Spot café.
The project is scheduled to be complete in June 2010; the project is a federal stimulus funded project with private funds. The project cost is just under $650,000, acquisition and build out cost.

Please register for the WMDC Annual Meeting / Membership Kick-Off Event. The event will take place on December 15th, from 4:30 pm - 6:30 pm at the SpragueTheatre on the campus of American International College.

WMDC will have a resource center available for area businesses to visit and obtain program information on various funding, technical assistance and certification programs throughout the pioneer valley. The Resource Center will also be equipped with three computers with internet access and links to local, state and federal procurement opportunities for businesses to review and print, if interested in pursuing. The WMDC Business Resource Center will be available in December Monday thru Friday, normal business hours, 9am-4pm.
The WMDC Business Resource Center and Free Educational workshops are being provided based on funding we received from Community Foundation of Western Massachusetts.
